Retrostone OS Update

I know that the Retrostone 2 is the new Hotness, but is there any chance there might be an OS Update for the original Retrostone that gets it off Debian Jessie? I don't know enough about building an image from scratch, hopefully someone might be enterprising enough that one might be made? There's a ...

Re: Retrostone 2 is coming soon

My understanding is that hardware acceleration will be part of the new SOC, something that the old SOC was lacking because of proprietary blobs. So even if it's 'slower' than the original Retrostone, the new hardware will actually likely be faster for most things. Proper hardware acceleration will ...

Re: Retrostone 2 is coming soon

I see the Kickstarter for the Retrostone 2 has reached over $300,00 CAD (Approximately $200,000 Euro). This looks like we're getting Wifi and Bluetooth onboard? I am SO STOKED! Even though I won't get the chance to pledge in time to get a Clear Blue case, I am totally excited to get my order in for ...

Re: Retrostone 2 is coming soon

Or he could make the RS2 an upgrade from the first model. Honestly, all the issues associated with this device, I don't know how you people still support development. Just get a Bittboy PocketGo and be satisfied. I love my Retrostone. I don't have any real 'issues' with it, beyond a small spot on t...

Re: Retrostone 2 is coming soon

I've been asking for this since I got the 'stone 1. Looks like the RS2 is going to be the same stubby look, and will still feel like it will fall forwards out of your hands while playing :( Yeah, I had to file off a sharp bit of angular plastic around the bottom left screw hole because it was diggi...

Re: Retrostone 2 is coming soon

Yeah, I had to file off a sharp bit of angular plastic around the bottom left screw hole because it was digging into my hands during play. If it was another inch longer, it would have been perfectly fine. I'd even be happy to pay for a replacement shell for my Retrostone 1 that was an inch longer o...

Re: Retrostone 2 is coming soon

Would it be possible to get the case lengthened at the bottom by about another 1 inch? The current one is a little 'short' and the Retrostone 2 appears to have the same dimensions. Even if it's empty space inside (which could give room for any additional mods users might want to add!) the slight ad...

Open Source VPU driver for Allwinner

Open Source VPU driver for Allwinner SOCS, including the H3. I wonder if this has been properly implemented or is the VPU driver used by OrangePi still the closed source blob? This seems to support Mpeg and H264 decoding which means that it could be possible Kodi might work better? Just wanted to st...
