Re: Retrostone screen
Hi Ruffnuts, The screen is a 3.5in Waveshare HDMI IPS LCD. https://www.waveshare.com/3.5inch-rpi-lcd-a.htm It is not exactly 4:3, it is a bit wider so not a perfect fit. This mod is a work in progress, I needed to remove the RJ45 jack and some of the USB ports to make room. I am using a WIFI USB don...

Re: Retrostone screen
I've been working on modifying the RetroStone screen. I replaced it with a 3.5in IPS LCD with an HDMI input. Here is a link to a short video (work in progress):

Re: Retrostone screen
That pixel flicker you are seeing is most likely composite crawl or composite ringing. You will not be able to get rid of it completely. But if you go in the the RetroArch settings for that ROM you should be able to turn on Bilinear filtering or other video filters that will blur the image a bit but...

Re: Analog joystick installation questions
Ok I see it now. It is hard to see, but there is an area on the PCB for the MCP3208.
But once installed, will the joystick work or are drivers required?

The screen is not great. But....
There are three buttons on the side of the Retrostone. There are the lcd controls. You can adjust brightness, contrast, color.

Analog joystick installation questions
Hi all, I didn't see this posted so here goes... I'd like to add an analog joystick. (I have one lying around). The 8Bcraft site has a tutorial to mod the Retrostone but it says: "IMPORTANT : Joystick driver is not yet functional!" Also it says the parts needed are: Analog joystick MCP3208...

Re: Retrostone crash without an reason
About chargers. I think it was mentioned to use a regular 5V 2A charger.
Fast chargers/Quick Chargers can up the voltage to 9V, some quick chargers can up the voltage to 20V.
So it is best to use a charger that you know is only going to output 5V.

Re: Retrostone screen
Hi all, I have not gotten my Retrostones yet. But I have already been looking in to possible replacements for the screen. The Retrostone uses the LQ035NC11. 3.5in, 320x240, 4:3 aspect, 54pin. The LCD can be fed an RGB24bit signal, but the RetroStone is taking an analog composite signal and convertin...
