Future case revisions?

It would be great if there were future revisions to the case. I made this quick mock-up of what it would look like if the top half of the case looked like a North American SNES cartridge instead of the current nondescript design.

Re: Neo Geo Crashes

I'be been using Neo Geo roms on my RPB, and I haven't had any issues yet.

Are you building your own Retropie library? You might want to try starting with a complete disk image that includes roms and then cutting out other things that don't work so well.

Re: Play Arcade games on Raspiboy with Pifba emulator

The Retropie disk image that I used for my RasPi Boy already had Arcade and Neo Geo roms on it and I found that the Pi Zero isn't quite capable of handling them. I'm not very knowledgeable about overclocking the Pi to get better results, so I've basically resigned myself to thinking this model is be...

Re: Very first question

The USB method tends to work pretty well, but I might be a little impatient. It seems like only a certain number of files no matter how long I wait. You can go in and see where the files stop and then delete all the roms from the USB that were successfully transferred, then insert the USB again to t...

Re: Add new emulators like Amiga or C64

It's also worth noting that some systems require additional files to operate correctly that Retropie will not install for you. Check the Retropie Wiki pages for each system to find out what those files are and where you'll need to place them. Some of them are even so particular that you may need to ...

Modding the shoulder buttons

I've remedied the issue with the fragile L/R shoulder button pins. 1. Cut the pins off entirely with a craft knife or sidecutter. 2. Find or cut a metal pin of a similar width/thickness of the original plastic pin. Cut it to the same length. Small framing nails seem to work alright. You'll want a ri...

Try loosening the screws around the dpad slightly.

Re: Unable to use any USB controllers

Take it slow. I assume you're holding any button to skip over all the buttons you aren't assigning. Once you're done, you just use the A button on the final "OK" button at the bottom of the menu. Just once, and then wait. It may take a couple of seconds to complete. Then you just use the B...

Re: Sound Low or Not working

I fixed this problem by just reflashing my sd card, then inserting my sd card into my computer and making the config.txt file adjustments. On at least one attempt to fix this problem I had just tried to ftp in and edit the txt file, but the changes weren't saved, so as much of a pain in the ass as i...
