Themes?

Is it possible to sideload themes into RetrOrangePi? if so, which themes are the best?
I've had trouble with some themes that I've installed normally through the UI, which crash the system immediately upon installation and then causes the system to stop completely at the "RetrOrangePi Loading" screen.

Try the tft theme (available through the "es theme" browser in the settings - position 61 or something)
You could then also install the tft carbon theme made by a member in this forum.

If you installed a theme and it hangs on the retroorangepie loading screen do the following:

SSH into your stone (User: pi Password: pi)

sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_settings.cfg

In the editor check if the "game list view style" is set to anything else other then "detailed" or "basic" (options could be "automatic" or "video") if so change this back to basic or detailed

- exit with control+x
- safe
- reboot

If this didn't work change the theme:

Your current (and broken) theme name is in "" in the theme selection line - change that name into "carbon"

- exit with control+x
- safe
- reboot

Your stone should boot again with the standard carbon theme
If you don't have the carbon theme installed or are using some obscure variant try "boxcity" instead of carbon

The Freeplay theme (available in the standard ES themes menu) is also a really good fit for the Retrostone.
