I've been asking for this since I got the 'stone 1. Looks like the RS2 is going to be the same stubby look, and will still feel like it will fall forwards out of your hands while playing :(
Yeah, I had to file off a sharp bit of angular plastic around the bottom left screw hole because it was digging into my hands during play. If it was another inch longer, it would have been perfectly fine. I'd even be happy to pay for a replacement shell for my Retrostone 1 that was an inch longer on the bottom of it were available!
If someone would whip up some 3D models, I'm sure we could make our own cases... That would rock.
Or he could make the RS2 an upgrade from the first model. Honestly, all the issues associated with this device, I don't know how you people still support development. Just get a Bittboy PocketGo and be satisfied.

Hello,

the kickstarter campaign seams to be a big success.
At the button, there is a note about the import of the product:
RetroStones2 will ship from ShenZhen in China, to avoid any delivery problems we will declare full value of the products. Please note that there might be taxes applied by your country customs.

That means, when I order a Retrostone2 Pro and I will pay 179€, I have to pay additional 19% (I live in Germany) taxes, when it will be delivered?

I love my Retrostone. I don't have any real 'issues' with it, beyond a small spot on the screen that looks like a little bit of wear but it's only seen when the unit is off, and it plays pretty much everything I throw at it. I have a few minor tweaks that I'd like to have, but by and large I've been super happy with it. Meanwhile, I have a Bittboy version 2 that has button ghosting issues, and while the Pocketgo is an upgrade I really don't feel like shelling out for another low power unit that may or may not play what I want it to when I'd rather get a beefier unit like the RS2 when it comes out.

I would dearly love someone to whip up a 3d Model. I've been toying with the idea of making one in Blender, but I don't know how to convert exact measurements I could take with the current unit and transpose them in Blender. I can make a decent 3d Model that would look awesome, but the measurements would probably be all off and I have to wait a while for a 3d Print.

I don't even use my Retrostone anymore since getting the Bittboy. The RS is too expensive, boots slowly, doesn't boot 100% every time, sounds terrible, is uncomfortable to use, has poor battery, and the screen is not great. The concept was excellent, but execution was not great. I know I cheaped out and assembled it myself, but it was not at all easy to assemble either...

You assembled your own Retrostone? I had no idea that was an option.

Sorry, i was confusing it with the RasPiBoy, another mess. But I did have to open the RS to perform the boot problem fix. That wasn't exactly fun.

I have a Bittboy v2. The screen is very nice, but the pixel ratio is pretty bad, and the button ghosting makes it extremely difficult to play some games as they act like other button presses, though remapping helps some. I have a custom firmware running on it that gives me some other options, but it doesn't play GBA or Snes things very well. Maybe you got a flakey batch Retrostone motherboard? The one I have has had zero problems since I got it. I was much happier with it than my Bittboy. I own two Odroid Gos as well and I'm pretty happy with them, but in all honesty my RS is my go-to for handheld gaming. I wish the shell was a little longer, and I wish the screen would turn off when I'm in console mode, but those are quirks that seem to be fixed with the RS v2, and I will be definitely getting one of them.

I don't recommend the Bittboy 2, rather the PocketGo. Small screen, but a stalwart.

I don't think I'm in the minority with the boot problems. There was a thread dedicated to it and you had to remove or solder over a resistor. It shouldn't have gone out the door in that condition.

I see the Kickstarter for the Retrostone 2 has reached over $300,00 CAD (Approximately $200,000 Euro).

This looks like we're getting Wifi and Bluetooth onboard? I am SO STOKED! Even though I won't get the chance to pledge in time to get a Clear Blue case, I am totally excited to get my order in for my RS2 when they are available!

Only thing is, can we please please please get the case lengthened by about an inch at the bottom before they go into production?
