Wasted too much time with this thing now, never flashed so many SD cards in my life.

Finally got it to work, and apart from the god awful screen it played OK.

Put it away came back to it a few days later, switch it on and what happens, yep thats right its now corrupt and gives errors.

Theres no way in hell im going back and flashing more images and copying over shit loads of roms only for it to become corrupted a few days later.

Awful device and i wish i never backed it now.

Very VERY unhappy customer.

Done it mate, loads of times using several diff cards using etcher and win32. Same results.

Some cards it boots some it does not boot at all.

Finally get it working and now its corrupted.

Sad thing is i cant even sell the thing as its hit and miss whether it works, boots etc.

Ill give it a few weeks and see if anything is fixed, if not ill cut my loses and forget it ever happened lol.

Thanks for the advice.

I feel your pain!

The last flash I did seems to be a little more stable, thanks to the work done by the RetrOrangePi developer, but still a little hit or miss as to how many times it requires a power cycle to boot. I struggle with the less than sharp screen image though, finding small text difficult or impossible to read.

@stepp

Try changing dram clock speed as the OrangePi developer suggests here:
http://orangepi.club/showthread.php?tid ... 07#pid6007

For me it solved most of the problems, at least now I'm finally able to play something without crashes.

Of course you should try it after a fresh installation of the latest Full version (05.09).

Also it might well be a hardware faillure, if you keep having crashes and freezes that's not normal. Please reply there to get a replacement of it : viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1760

Hi Stepp,

I had similar issues and also thought my RetroStone might be broken. I then installed a beta version of retrorangepi and the corruption issues were gone.

I highly recommend you to try this.

Best regards

Tried all the above, id much rather have a refund, the screen is awful, ive had many handhelds and this is by far the worst screen i have ever seen.

The clumsiness of it, the crap d pad, the fact that you have to flash OS over and over again to even get it working....and when you do it crashed and corrupts. START AGAIN !

Its just not enjoyable, too much hassle for what should of been a awesome little handheld, probably ended up like this due to cutting corners.

I cant believe the one thing thats its meant to do (play games ) is hampered by the crap screen and the OS......shocking.

@ADMIN....how do i go about getting a refund?

I think it either could be a problem with your Micro-SD cards or a software issue.
I have 2 RetroStones and I've been using them continuously without any issues.
I buy all of my Micro-SD cards in-person from BestBuy. I don't trust Amazon or eBay to sell quality memory cards.
