I am a console collector, so I own and tried the controllers of almost every major console out there, from a 3DO to a Virtual Boy and a Neo Geo CD. I'm sorry to say that the Dpad you've chosen for this device is probably one of the worst if not the worst I've ever used. It's extremely mushy, and with the lack of a central pivot it so easy to just push the whole thing down, making games where you need fast direction changing almost impossible. Even with simple platformers there is an issue since it's so easy as you push forward on the dpad to accidentally push the whole thing down and the character stops moving.
I did the membrane reversing thing it was advised to do, but even though it kinda help with the left direction (before it barely registered) it still just not good. I will try and find an alternative but I suggest trying to fix it, because others probably won't be so forgiving as me.
