RaspiBoy getting very very Hot on PI Side

Post by knighthawk »

Hi,

Just an observation just in case anybody else has the problem.

It was getting to the point that the steel case around the USB ports was untouchable after using a USB key to load the roms.

The front of the case was unusually hot and it was beginning to smell hot.

Basically I think the Raspberry PI was shorting out on the back of the Monitor, which could very easily supplied 5v to the 3.3v lines.

I have put a piece of Tape over the edge of the monitor and all is now working great, apart from the Hiss on my previous post.

Images attached of what I have done.

Hello,

I did that also, but on a larger size on the screen back, and also between the two cards, raspberry pi and raspiboy, as we can see it on one of the video provided by the project. It's always a good idea to anticipate :-)

Thanks for sharing.
