Dead controller and dead display.

So when I assembled everything the controller was not being recognized, however a USB one was working. I powered down the unit and reseated the controller board cable. When i powered back on, the display was working fine for about 10-15 seconds and then it went black. I was getting video on the micro hdmi output to a monitor though. I reseated all connnectors on the raspiboy board, but the display is still black. I made sure to touch something grounded each time before handling the unit. Any ideas? It seems others were having the same issue, but it appears reseating the cables worked for them. Kind of sad as I was hoping to play this weekend.
