Games Won't Save

Post by channel419 » Wed 20 Sep 2017 01:42

I just got my kit and don't have much Pi experience. I got everything together and it works great. I just can not get my games to save. I will make a save in the game and log out hitting start and select. When I load the game again, there is no save files. Any ideas?

thanks in advance

Mainly been messing with NES games with battery backups so far. I was able to get Zelda to save. But when I tried Shadowgate or DejaVu it doesn't. I will load up a few more games tonight to try out.

I'm using the emulators that came on the disc image.

Also, are you talking about saves within the game, or the save states in the emulator?

My save states are working. Its the saves for the game itself. I just tried Zelda 2 and it saves fine. For some reason when I play the others mentioned it wont. I save in game exit out with select/start but when I go back in there are only new game slots.

You can also use the emulator save states. Most of the time you can use Select+R to “reserve” (save) and Select+L to “load” (resume). Reserve/Load is probably the easiest way to remember which button to use.

Thanks guys. Tried about five more games and can save fine. Will just use save states on the few I have issues with.

And thanks wayn0r, that's an easy way to remember what bumper to hit.
