Yellow tint LCD

Post by Wapameepto »

Hi.

I received my Retrostone2 today.
After I installed the image on the SD-card and powert the Retrostone the first time on I noticed a yellow tint on the upper right corner of the LCD und on the lower right corner there is an bluish tint.

Is this software related or a hardware problem?

Sorry about this issue.
We discussed the matter with the factory and they feedback that this problem has been detected on some units after your unit already shipped.
The issue is that the ethernet connectors DIP pins are too long and press on the LCD corner. Those pins should have been cut by operator to prevent that, but I guess in your case they have not been.

I see several possibilities :
1- either you send it back to us and we'll fix it for you
2- either you can try to just loosen a little bit the screw on the ethernet corner.
3- either you can do as follow :
a- remove battery,
b- open the RetroStone2 by unscrewing the 6 screws. Gently lift the back cover and put in on the side.
c- beware not to loose the 2 small plastic caps for the buttons
d- disconnect the back buttons
e- lift the PCB gently and bring it up by few centimeters
f- cut the too long ethernet DIP pins with a wire cutter
then reassemble everything together
a- make sure buttons/silicons have not moved.
b- put back PCB
c- put back the 2 plastic caps for on/off and brightness buttons
d- connect back button
e- put back the back case, making sure the plastic caps do not prevent the closing.
f- screw back.
