Pic of my Mini NES Build

While I am waiting on a replacement board from Pierre (black screen flaw, bummer!) I wrapped up my other little project, building an NES Mini! This uses the RetroFlag case for the Raspberry Pi 3, an 8bitdo NES30 Pro for controls, an 8bitdo cube for audio, and a cheap 19 inch Gateway monitor (only 720p, but good enough for my needs, and only runs 50 bucks online). Using a 128GB micro SD card with Hyperpie installed, than slammed all my roms and media files on there for a smooth looking system.

The case also has an SD storage compartment on the bottom, so I have a second card as well, just an 8 gig card, but it is set up to run a theme for Attract Mode that is an exact copy of the NES Classic look on the small one that Nintendo made, except it contains the entire NES library. I only set it up with box artwork to make it fit on an 8 gig card, but it completes the look if one wants to just go NES, or they can use the 128 GB card to play anything from the 2600 all the way to PSX games!

Also, a cool feature on this case is that the power and reset buttons work, they aren't just there for show, it has a functional power LED, and under the lid is an additional 2 USB ports and an ethernet port.

I'm waiting for a pcb replacement too. When did Pierre say you'll get yours? I also built a Nespi setup where I'll be giving it yo my sister as s gift. It's a really solid case.

In the mean time I discovered the app RetroX on Android using my Shield TV. It has it's downsides but has cloud saves and downloads all the Emulators you'll need to run you self-supplied roms.

He never said when it was coming in, I didn't wanna bug him too much with him being as busy as he is right now. It's been about 4 weeks, but I figure there is a backorder.

I got my replacement PCB in, only to find it STILL has the black screen, but fully working over HDMI. It should not be electrostatic discharge as I am assembling on a wood table, and am grounding myself before assembly. I am guessing an LCD failure, gonna order a new screen and see if that fixes the issue.

I built a NesPi Mini Also. The case was only around €20 from China. It is unreal! I love how the buttons work along with the red LED. The only problem is keeping it a secret until Christmas. Me and my sister used to play Mario 3 all the time together. She is going to love this along with the NES usb controllers I got. As for the Raspiboy, god I can't wait for it to arrive. Going to hammer in some Pokemon over Christmas. :D
