Is there a second version of the 8bcraft PCB in development?

Post by leathco »

I was curious if there was a new 8bcraft PCB in development to address the charging while powered on issue, and maybe other tweaks. I would be more than happy to pay down the road for an upgraded PCB that could handle charging while powered on!

Yes, this has been confirmed to me by Pierre via email.

Fantastic! Looks like I will pick up the updated PCB once they are done!

Hopefully in addition to using it while plugged in, the switch can be modified to a safe shutdown switch. It would be a lot more convenient, especially if you're letting somebody else use it.

perhaps a different SoC/SBC - the RPi 0, which has the advantage of being cheap and widely available, lacks "punch" IMHO
