PSP Controls mapping

Post by dr_bunsen »

None of the controls work in the PSP emulator, so I can't even use the dialogue in PPSSPP to remap. I did find the following file, but don't know what to change to make the controls work:

\\192.168.X.XXX\configs\psp\PSP\SYSTEM\controls.ini

[ControlMapping]
Up = 1-19,10-19
Down = 1-20,10-20
Left = 1-21,10-21
Right = 1-22,10-22
Circle = 1-52,10-190
Cross = 1-54,10-189
Square = 1-29,10-191
Triangle = 1-47,10-188
Start = 1-62,10-197
Select = 1-66,10-196
L = 1-45,10-194
R = 1-51,10-195
An.Up = 1-37,10-4003
An.Down = 1-39,10-4002
An.Left = 1-38,10-4001
An.Right = 1-40,10-4000
Analog limiter = 1-60
RapidFire = 1-59
Unthrottle = 1-61
SpeedToggle = 1-68
Pause = 1-111
Rewind = 1-67

I answered my own question and found out how to map PSP controls. It requires a USB keyboard to start the key mapping as the escape key is needed to access setup and then the keyboard controls can be used to begin mapping. I remapped my controls, setting the escape key for PPSSPP menu to the top left rear button on the Retrostone. Here's my setup file, which you may be able to use to avoid re-mapping yourself.

File is \\192.168.X.XXX\configs\psp\PSP\SYSTEM\controls.ini

[ControlMapping]
Up = 1-19,10-4003
Down = 1-20,10-4002
Left = 1-21,10-4001
Right = 1-22,10-4000
Circle = 1-52,10-189
Cross = 1-54,10-190
Square = 1-29,10-193
Triangle = 1-47,10-191
Start = 1-62,10-106
Select = 1-66,10-4
L = 1-45,10-196
R = 1-51,10-197
An.Up = 1-37
An.Down = 1-39
An.Left = 1-38
An.Right = 1-40
Analog limiter = 1-60
RapidFire = 1-59
Unthrottle = 1-61
SpeedToggle = 1-68
Pause = 10-192
Rewind = 1-67

Works great in game but when i open the ppsspp menu, i can't navigate and change settings. The only thing i can do is go back to the game.

Not sure how to get around that problem, I just made my settings changes using a USB keyboard and then play the games. It is a problem though as I can't get back to Emulation station without the keyboard so have to switch off to exit PPSSPP. Maybe someone else has a better solution, but at least it's possible to play games at this point.

I'm also interested if someone have a solution !

Could be nice to have also a list of working games. I found one for the Raspberry :

Lumines seems to work ! :)
