Dpad problems. Help please

Post by Kikibos »

Hi, I’ve set up my raspiboy and all is working great except for when I press left or right on the dpad it keeps pressing up instead unless I press really hard on the bottom of the left and right side. I’ve taken it apart and put it back together several times and still having the same issue. Any advice please or do I have a dodgy game pad?

Hi,

I got a nearly similar problem.
As I reassembly my Raspiboy.

I'm not sure but for me it helped to disconnect all cables an connect the speaker first, the D-pad second and the battery at last.

After that, the Pad an anything else worked fine.

Maybe it's a Help, maybe I got only lucky :-)

Please let me know if you could fix your issue. It might also be the gamepad pcb that is defective. If so it will need replace, in this case contact me by email at hello@8bcraft.com with problem description + order number

Hi Pierre and crew.

I bought a raspiboy last month, but I have problems with inner gamepad, it results that while I'm playing sometimes I got a disconnect from it and nothing moves, nor buttons, nor D-pad.

I triyed everything thats in the troubleshooting faq, even I wrapped the 4 wire of the gamepad in aluminium foil but the problems still remains.

I whould like to know what can I do or even if you could send a replace of the gamepad to try with it since it is annoying because I have to turn off the unit an then turn on again to comeback to the games.

I sent and email.

Greetings

Hi, I emailed Pierre and he sent me a new pcb as he thought I had a defective one. It’s taken a while to arrive but it came today and I put the new one in the raspiboy tonight and so far so good. I can now move left and right as normal. He sometimes takes a few days to reply to emails as he is a busy man but give him time and he will always reply and will sort it out for you in any way he can.

I have different problem but still related with d-pad and few other build in pad buttons, keys works only if I press them hard. I have two different pads and experience with them are much better, my 8bitdo gamepad is soft and enjoyable to play with it.

Do you have any suggestion what I can try change to get working buttons in any conditions. I suppose pressing it hard is not normal for any gamepad and also can wear rubber dome much faster than in normal conditions.

Have a look there https://www.8bcraft.com/trouble-shooting-FAQ/
Maybe the L/R wires are stuck under the circular shape. or silicones might have moved while you tried to close the case.
Are all your buttons having this problem or is it only some? Are they clicking correctly? Meaning do you feel the silicon clicking when you press the buttons?
