Retrostone 1 not booting

Hi, my teenage son is having trouble with his retrostone which he got from his sister a couple of years ago. The system simply will not boot up and instead just shows two thirds of white screens and a third of it just being static. We don't know know much about coding, so we're pretty much stumped. does anyone know a fix? some help would be greatly appreciated.

The system needs an operating system to work. You need to download Retrorangepi and flash it on the microSD card.
