Extra Screen Pad? (1.2)

Received my 1.2 just a few days ago. Opened it up and noticed that there was an adhesive foam pad on both the left and right hand side of the screen. The assembly video only has a pad on the left hand (battery side) of the screen so I am leaning towards removing the "extra" one. I am hoping for some input though since it could be intentionally included in the 1.2 version to increase the tension between the pi and PCB. Attached is img with blue rectangle around where the "extra" pad is.
