I have figured it out it was the rims I was using, I got some different ones and they work great

so i have my raspiboy all together loaded up with retropie 4.2 and i add two games to see how it runs. i added them via usb stick restarted emulation station and tried to start the game and as soon as the config screen goes away the screen goes black, the sound plays but nothing but darkness on the ...
