Different audio problem

For some reason the audio coming through the speaker seems to click on and off in a continuos pattern but it’s fine through the headphone jack. Everything in my config file is correct and I’ve even taken the device apart a few times to check my connections. I also tried several image files just to be on the safe side. Could it be that my speaker is faulty or is there something I can add to the config file to correct this issue?

I would like to know too since I have the same/similar issue.
The speaker in my unit clicks/taps, in a steady metronome-like manner, from the moment it is turned on. I haven't tried playing games or anything else, haven't gotten to the good part yet, since I have to take it apart again for the umpteenth time, now because the left shoulder button won't function (have to fill in the gap where the rubber nipple points).
