I tried formatting my 64GB SD Card using disk utility. I tried MS-DOS the first time and ExFAT the second time, there was no option that said FAT32. Once I flashed Retrorangepi with balenaEtcher, my Mac would say that it could no longer recognize the card and I had to eject...

I also tried formatting my card using an app called SD Card Formatter (which has worked for my raspberry pi, but doesn't seem to work for this). Same issue.

This is the same 64GB Card that came with my RetroStone2.

MS-DOS(FAT) is same as FAT32.
Though I have never flashed with a mac so I am not sure.
Have you tried to follow mac tutorials to flash retropie images? As Retropie is more mainstream than Retrorangepi you will find more tutorial. And the flashing is the same for all those systems
